Since assuming office in 2021, the Biden administration has placed a significant focus on LGBT(QIA+) issues. In response to Biden's Executive Order on "Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation", the Department of State has issued almost $12 million in grants to organizations around the world to support LGBT-focused initiatives in foreign countries.
